Pffth, screw that hard thievery crap. Just type 'Killall' in the console. Take whatever the heck you want then. XD

You can do this everywhere! Who knew the dragonborn could kill EVERYTHING WITHIN HIS RANGE. ALSO, WITH JUST WORDS!

I did it and I didn't have to go through tedious dungeons. (Though if you plan leveling a skill, you probably have to do the tedious dungeon)

I used it on bleak falls barrow. You know? Just to get through it faster? Then, I just explore caves and etc for skills.

A useful tactic for dungeons you feel too lazy to do, or if you want to loot someones home/cave/fort/etc, kill them ALL.

Same thing with me. Whenever I enter the Ragged Flagon, the first thing I hear is Dirge telling me how he'd kill me if I caused some sort of trouble, AND I'M THE GUILDMASTER.

actually, just because you killed mercer, doesn't make you guild master YET

you have to take jobs from mc-baldy-the-thief

you have to get jobs to do thieving in the holds. after you complete the jobs for each hold ((you need to do five for each hold. the jobs you get are random though, so I recommend quiting the riften jobs)) then you get special missions for each hold

after that, and with mercer dead, THAT'S when you become guild master~~~

so yeah...basically kill mercer then continuously do thieves guild jobs for delvin until you get special jobs for solitude, whiterun, windhelm, and markarth

these are 'city influence jobs'

(taken from skyrim wiki))

City influence quests

After completing five small jobs in a city (with the exception of Riften), Delvin Mallory will offer a special job to restore Thieves Guild influence in that city. These quests can be taken in any order. The city influence quests are necessary in order to complete Under New Management and assume the title of Guildmaster. (However, before completing them all, see the bugs reported for Under New Management.) Becoming Guildmaster allows access to the Guild Master's Tribute Chest.

It's so true. I think they should make a mod that either adds on or changes the way the members of the Guild (or the College if you become Archmage, etc) react to you.

yeah, that would be awesome
